One of the best-preserved castles in France, Chateau De Chevenry is a prime example of classical French Renaissance architecture – A perfect blend of symmetry, geometry and aesthetic order. The facade and much of the interiors of the castle are made entirely of the stone “Bourre”, which hardens and becomes whiter with the passing of centuries. Here, a window opening in the middle of a staircase presents an unintentional optical illusion and displays the family crest coat of arms above.
