Seahorses love warm coastal waters, preferring the temperate and tropical zones. The odd-looking creatures are small, with the various varieties ranging from 1/2 inch to 14 inches long. Their prehensile tails allow them to cling to sea plants and remain in place.
History: From the tip of their mouth to the end of their tail, Seahorses pack purpose into every tiny element of their small bodies. Their mouths work like straws or vacuums, sucking food from passing water, their eyes independently swivel to keep a look out for danger, and their tiny curled tails can grasp weeds and plants, holding Seahorses in place against ocean currents. Males have a pouch in front where they carry their young until the little ones are ready to venture out on their own.

Characteristics: The horse of the sea is as cute as can be, and it would be welcome in any underwater or ocean project or lesson. The Seahorse figures can also be used in artwork or turned into charms.
Size: These soft figures are a little shorter than a paperclip, around an inch long.
